A creative writer, gamer, and digital nomad, all wrapped into one, somewhat-overweight, package.
My name is Juancho Zarate, and I like to write.
I studied and got my bachelor’s degree in AB Communication at Ateneo de Manila University. There, I learned three things that make me who I am: the different ways to write, a truckload of theories, and the many, many reasons why people are terrible. I’m a dog person, what can I say?
My main passion in life is to craft stories that affect people on a deeper level, no matter the length, genre, or medium—except Romance. The thing with writing is that writers always say there’s no originality left when it comes to how and what stories are told. But I beg to differ.
As a writer, I believe that the power of words is immeasurable. There will always be room for improvement in my writing, and I am by no means good at what I do. But, I always strive for my best and always seek new ways to break my borders and push myself—oftentimes, off the edge. I don’t write what’s left, because I believe that what’s left is to write.
